OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said Thursday that the recent departure of top executives from the company had nothing to do with the planned restructuring.
OpenAI’s longtime chief technology officer Mira Murati abruptly announced her departure from the company on Wednesday. Greg Brockman, president of OpenAI, was also on leave.
Reuters reported on Wednesday that OpenAI was working on a plan to restructure its core business into a for-profit company that would no longer be controlled by its nonprofit board, in a move intended to make the company more attractive to investors.
